YAY Knitting!!!! I'm making my first sweater! I'm so excited about this!! It's a top-down sweater designed by Knitbot, made with lace weight, (very yummy yarn, btw) on a size 6 needle, so it is going pretty fast. Very fast as far as my knitting goes! Even my knitting friend is surprised at how much I've done it in just two weeks! I've got about 8 inches knitted so far!

I'm really liking this top-down thing. There's no seaming involved! That means I'm not making two pieces that I have to match. I've had such a hard time with that. Even in crocheting, following the same directions and everything!! UGH! Oh well! If anyone is interested in seeing what the sweater looks like, or joining the knit-a-long that Cast Away yarn shop is doing, head on over to the Ravelry website, find Cast Away in the groups and join in the fun!!!

Best wishes and happy yarning all!!!!!

Oh wholly geez!!! I haven't been on here FOREVER!!!!! So what's new? Well a ton of things, really. I don't crochet much these days. I knit WAY more now. I also took up needle felting and I'm really into that. It's one of those like instant gratification type things. Most things I can finish in an evening. And I started working at a yarn shop.

I finally made a knitted garment. I made a really cute onesie for my girlfriend that is having her first baby any day now (I keep waiting for the call). I've just started my first top-down sweater. Well, technically, I've started the swatch. I still have a hat to finish for a friend before I can really start the sweater. But it's a knit-a-long, so I got to get on it!! Ever since I started the needle felting, the knitting and crocheting have been VERY SLOW GOING!!!

I have also taken up yoga that I do almost everyday. I tend to take Sundays off. I'm also looking into Ayurveda. But I'm just starting to look at that. So far, from what I've read, I don't really get it. lol But! I'm looking and just trying to incorporate some things that are better for me. The yoga really helps and I really notice a difference in myself when I don't do it.In both my body and mind, so that keeps me going. I am trying to do some meditation, but it's really hard when my two boys are being boys.

So that's me in a nutshell. Just trying to live my life as best as I can, being the best mom, wife, friend, knitter and person that I can! Hope that all is well with you and yours!!!! Namaste!

I'm so not a blogger, but i love the idea! I can't believe it's been so long since the last time I blogged. And typing on a "real" computer, really makes me realize how much I really use my iPhone!

So anyways, I have recently gotten into knit and crochet graffiti. It's so cool! I love the idea of tagging and it NOT being destructive!! And what better way to get rid of all those little bits and pieces of yarn that is no longer wanted?!?! Plus i have a TON of acrylic yarn that I completely despise and would love to get rid of, and this is the most perfect way to get rid of it!! Then I can feel better about future purchases!!

There are some Amazing bombers out there!! check out maskerade.blogsome.com, baltimorediy.blogspot.com ladiesfancyworksociety.com and there's a book called Yarn Bombing that has an awesome pair of knitted sneakers on the cover!

Hope y'all are having a wonderful life! Even with the ups and downs!! So, I leave you with a wish of happy thoughts, luscious merriment and much obsessive yarning (and yarn bombing)!!

Hellooooooo!!

Hope all is well and right (as it can be) in your world. Mine's doing quite well. I recently decided to embrace my hippie-ness again. It has been a wonderful decision and journey as well.

And my reason for telling you this piece of information is because I had this great idea!!
Why not put little rocks and stones in my dolls?!?

I know what your thinking! What if they get out and then pose a choking hazard? Well, then I guess I'll have to put them in a bit hosiery. And I like to make sure my toys are sewn together well. My thought is, if the stuffing is going to come out, then I want it to be from the body of the toy, not from my poor sewing technique.

Sew, I mean, So, that is what I'm gonna do. I actually have an idea to take it just one step further, but I haven't quite decided if I'm really going to follow through. And I don't want to say anything here for fear that someone might 'take' my idea. And I think I can sell it someday if I really get my act together. So anyways, I hope this finds you in good spirits! I know I am in a better spirit now then when I started this post.

So again, I leave you with a wish of happy thoughts, luscious merriment and much obsessive yarning!!

Caio!

I love knitting, but I hate trying to get gauge. I'm trying to make this really nice hat for my father in law. He actually asked me to make him one. I made him a scarf two christmas's ago and he wears it all the time in the winter. Makes me feel so good. he was the one I was most unsure about liking crocheted/knitted items, and he'd turned out to be the one who loves it the most in the family. None of the woman have used the things I made for them. Makes me sad. It hurts my feelings. but I guess that's to be expected. *sigh*I guess I will just make things for him. I bet I could make my sister and mother in law socks. Everybody loves socks. Can't have to many socks. So I guess I can just stick to that.

So anyways, (I always have to have some sort of long drawn out story) my dad (father in law, same diff) asked for a hat. I wanted to make him this really nice knitted hat. very pretty. In a masculine way.... but I CAN'T GET GAUGE!!!!!!!!!! AAAAHHHHH!! So I said screw it! I'm just gonna crochet it. I can use the same yarn, and use the same striping pattern and call it a day. I take FOREVER to knit. And the weather is always changing here right now. But he said that he would like a hat for when he goes running in the morning. So I'm just gonna get on it. Maybe he'll get the 'turn a square' hat for his b-day in Dec.
